We are proud to be part of this community and actively help to shape it. Each school within the Cognita family preserves its distinct character and remains deeply rooted in its local community. Crucially, these diverse experiences across the world foster inspiration, shared support, and growth opportunities for every school within our group.

Our students and teachers are more than just learners and educators; they are active global citizens. Together, they are exposed to a variety of perspectives from diverse cultures, sharing and gaining insights that transcend traditional classroom boundaries. This dynamic exchange fosters a learning space where young minds, guided by their teachers, are encouraged to express their unique ideas and talents, while instilling the value of respect and embracing the spirit of collaboration.

It’s an individual approach that empowers our school, every teacher, and each student to discover what they truly do best. And thrive.

Academic Excellence

Continuously improving the quality of education

Cognita’s evidence-based framework provides clear guidance on what makes an excellent school. Using this as a guide, Cognita’s Education Team works with school leaders to drive continuous improvement in educational practice across all our schools in a way that works best for each school community.

Having access to a global staffroom means that we make the most of our diverse community by sharing best practice, connecting and collaborating across the miles.

And our teachers benefit from formal professional development opportunities such as the Team Fellowship and Senior Leader Enquiry programmes, developed and run in partnership with the world-leading IOE, Faculty of Education and Society at UCL.

Culture of Care

Prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our students

Our uncompromising culture of care ensures the safety and wellbeing of all children is at the heart of every Cognita school. This includes the security of our learning environments, the emotional wellbeing of our students, the rigorous vetting of our staff, and robust policies, procedures and training in child safeguarding.

Every Cognita school has a regular independent safeguarding review and is monitored and assessed to ensure they go above and beyond what is required by regulators.

Academic Excellence

Continuous improvement is at the heart of the Cognita Way. Our Global Education Team comprises of leaders based in each of Cognita’s four global regions and together they utilise evidence – from within our group as well as external sources – to drive outstanding educational practice across all our schools.

Our global diversity fuels our innovation. We take our best and share it so everyone can improve. A key benefit of being part of the global Cognita family is the opportunity to connect and collaborate with peers across the world.

For example, our partnership with University College London (UCL) sees teachers undertake research projects linked to personalising learning for students. This work has a high impact on student progress and agency.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing forms an integral part of a Cognita Education. We believe that every child has the right to flourish emotionally, socially, and physically and that the education we provide must help them achieve this in a sustainable and meaningful way.

The mental and physical health challenges facing children and young people today are well documented, and the evidence showing the correlation between wellbeing and learning is clear.

Research also emphasises the importance of a proactive approach to wellbeing in schools, embedding a culture that promotes ownership and prioritisation of wellbeing for all members of its community.

Cognita’s annual Global Be Well Day each September sees St. Andrews International School, Sathorn join together with all other Cognita schools to collapse the curriculum for an entire day to focus solely on wellbeing. Based on the contributors to wellbeing outlined in our Be Well Charter, schools enjoy a range of activities to remind their communities about what they need to do to look after their own wellbeing.
