At our school, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding within the Early Years (EY) setting. Our Early Years Designated Safeguarding Lead (EYDSL) works in close partnership with the whole-school Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to provide expert oversight and support for our youngest children.
Our safeguarding practices include clear and comprehensive intimate care policies and procedures, thorough risk assessments tailored specifically to the EY environment, and regular safeguarding training for all staff. This ensures that our team is well-informed, confident, and prepared to protect every child.
We also educate our Early Years children about protective behaviours in an age-appropriate manner. This helps them understand how to stay safe, recognise when they need help, and confidently seek support when necessary.
Additionally, we work closely with new parents, providing guidance and support on safeguarding their children both in and out of school, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
