Support Services
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
We have a limited number of places for students from Reception to Year 9 who require English as an Additional Language support. Teaching Assistants throughout the school are also skilled in developing English language skills. We also have experienced teachers in EAL who are able to give additional support to children both in class and through personalised tuition.
Parents, whose children need EAL support pay extra fees for this service.
Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Our small classes and personalised learning enables the needs of most of our children to be met in class. However, there are children who have specific learning difficulties or special needs, which cannot wholly be met in class. These children will have an Individual Education Plan, which details their needs, their targets and how these targets will be met. We liaise very closely with parents and take advice from multi-agencies when appropriate. We also have teachers who have had specialist training in this area and we are able to offer some additional support.
Children are regularly assessed to ascertain the level of support required for special needs. The school charges a fee to cover this additional support, which is provided by experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistants.
